I'm writing a mermaid story, I thought I'd try something different and make the main character a mermaid and a lesbian. I have the first paragraph lol, but I need help with a conflict. I had one but then I thought, eh, its boring. So, any ideas? Thanks a lot. Here's the first paragraph: I swim up to the surface of the never ending ocean, following the little light that floats down into the deep depths of my home. As I swim up towards the sliver of light I hear nothing but the sound of my swift fins pushing me forward. It is late at night and I should be sleeping in my clam, but I am wide awake and do not wish to sleep. Instead, I sneak out of my bed and swim towards the one thing I have had interest in, a girl. I noticed her about a week ago, and I have been fascinated ever since. She has long, beautiful green hair, it reaches her behind and follows swiftly behind her. She is tall, but from a distance she looks very small. I cannot make out what she wears, I am too far away to see. It's always night out when I can see her and my eye's aren't that great at this time. I can, though, tell she has a nicely shaped body, her silhouette is fairly clear. There's a little bit of light that comes from her house just off the shore. I can barely see her when she's not by it, but when she is I hold my gaze on her as long as I can. Sorry! I forgot to say that the girl the mermaid likes is a vampire. I could change it to her being a witch but I don't know. Maybe the mermaid could be a witch too but not likely gonna happen. Hiya!
